Homemade Organic Baby & Toddler Food. Now Just A Click Away!

As a mother, whether working or a SAHM (stay at home mom), we are always worried about our family’s nutrition. In this era of busy life where we have to play diverse roles & balance home, work and children, we always end up with the challenge of feeding the right food to our little ones. Our ancestors had the right recipe for a healthy living. But we are so busy juggling between multiple tasks that we do not have the time and knowledge to prepare nutritious food. So we end up buying over the counter products which are loaded with artificial colors & flavours, sugar and preservatives. Moreover, the environment which we live in has caused a low immunity in our children. 

So here is my story - Right from the time my daughter was born I have been very careful about her food habits. She has turned two now and has developed challenging taste buds. So, time had come to try something healthy, new, & interesting.

So I came across ‘earlyFoods’. 1. WHOLE MULTI-GRAIN CEREALS

They are completely organic millets & cereals, like ragi, bajra, wheat, red rice and foxtail millet. It makes a balanced meal for our kids.

As our kids grow and do lot of physical activities, it becomes important to monitor their eating habits and provide more nutritional food. Since by the time they reach two, they get accustomed to eating chips, chocolates, cakes etc. Occasionally there is no harm but it has to be balanced with the right kind of eating. I have been giving eggs, dosa, idli, sheera, sandwiches, daliya, nachni to my daughter for her breakfast and snacks. But off lately she has refused to eat nachni and daliya. I also wanted to try millets since a long time. So I was looking out for something which will give her right nutrition in one bowl. You can make porridge in 5 mins, just add some jaggery for sweetness and your kid will love it. You can even make dosas by mixing rava to it. Add some chopped onions and tomatoes to besan batter, and your multi grain chilas are ready to eat.




2. INSTANT RAGI, ALMOND & DATES
I wanted to give some form of Ragi to my daughter, as it’s very rich in calcium. It also has almonds & dates, and helps in weight gain too. So I ordered this cereal, it’s just like cerelac, where you can prepare and eat the porridge by mixing hot water or hot milk. Since it is mildly sweet, I had to add some extra jaggery to make my child eat it.  I find it very useful while travelling because all I need is this pack, a bowl and a spoon and some hot water in a flask. No need of gas at all.  It’s such a healthier option compared to a pack of chips or biscuits, right?


3. BADAM & DATES POWDER: Ever wondered why our kids don’t have milk. Because compared to bland taste of milk, an addition to it makes milk tastier and healthier. earlyFoods Badam & Dates powder is the need of the hour. Now no more coaxing required to finish that glass of milk. I simply loved the taste. My daughter too enjoyed it and tells me to ‘Mumma WOW wala dudu’.  It’s also so easy to make, take 100ml milk (hot or cold), add 2-3 spoons of the powder, mix and drink! That’s it. Also, in terms of nutrition, what I observed is, most health drinks have almost 80% sugar, but this brand has smartly reduced the quantity of sugar by replacing it with dried dates powder. So now, we moms don’t even have to worry about too much sugar for our kids. One glass of badam drink at night will also help kids sleep better and restore digestive system.














4. WHOLE WHEAT SEVIYAAN
Seviyaan, also known as vermicelli is one of my favorite and I prepare this item every 15 days either in milk form, sheera, upma or noodles.  Whether you slug them, gulp them down, or whirl them on your fork, everyone loves it.
I went through more products at earlyFoods and saw Seviyaan made of wheat, which I have never come across in the market. Earlier my daughter used to not eat seviyaan. After having Whole Wheat Seviyaan  by  earlyFoods, she has become very fond of it. My diet conscious husband also now prefers to have whole wheat seviyaan.





The best part is, that it is very simple and easy to make. An instant and tasty dish for our fussy eaters. This too has no preservatives, colors or artificial favors.

DRY FRUIT TREAT: Since my family has a sweet tooth and I always see to it that their sugar intake is on the minimal side and to satisfy their cravings for sweet, I ordered these mesmerizing Ladoos which are full of protein power. Though they have mentioned it is for kids, but everyone in the family can have it. Even elders in the family with sugar problems can enjoy it since it has no sugar and the sweetness comes naturally from dates & jaggery. It is also easily chewable as it has dry fruits powder and prepared in pure ghee.

They have 200gms & 400 gms packet. I ordered 200 gms and it had 8 ladoos(posting a picture of same, minus two ladoos, which we ate). I wished had ordered more. Price is also quite reasonable. Even if my child eats 2 ladoos means she is getting 10% daily value of fibre and 5% daily value of Calcium, Iron, Potassium and Protein.
 

It is a good appetizer for kids while on run. Even for school kids and parents who are working and always in a hurry that they have no time for breakfast, can have these sweet smelling healthy ladoos and believe me it will suffice. Atleast, it has more nutritional value compared to outside food. My daughter has substituted her craving for chocolates with these delicious ladoos and my husband too prefers them in evening snacks while coming from office. My father in law has asked me to order some for him and my dad too who is a sugar patient simply enjoys them.
